Hi Everybody,
I am getting a weird error - "Unable to deallocate a kept page!" when executing Stored Procedures on a SQL 2005 box. This happens randomly. I have looked around and could not find any information on this.

If anyone has any information on this issue, it will be great if you can post it under this thread.

All help is appreciated.

Thx

R

I think we had this come up on one of our servers. If I'm thinking of the correct error we had to restart the SQL Services and the problem went away.

I just searched our change control system and we were getting the same error. A SQL Restart was the fix.

A full reboot may be required.

The error I faced went away on its own without having the reboot the server. I just got off the phone with Microsoft Product Support and it seems like this is a known issue with SQL Server 2005 and has been reportedly fixed. The fix will be available in SP2.

Denny, thanks for the response.

Cool, good to know.

Thanks for the info.

Did they happen to say what the cause of the problem is?

Not really but I think it has got something to do with page allocation in SQL Server engine. I could probably have inquired more but was short on time. They will possibly call me tomorrow to close the case and I can post their comments here.
