Unable to create user profile.

Hi,

I had a win2k pro system. I ahd created a new domain user and tries to logon to that system, but during login process it gives me an error message that" Unable to create a roaming profile. Local user profile will be used. Access Deined." After clicking on OK button it again shows me a samll window saying that " Unable to loacte the local profile. A temperory proile will be used for this user."

Every time the user log's in I have to to all the application settings again and again.

Can anybody help in this regard.

Reinstall is easier than troubleshooting. I had the same problem. First try to go on as local admin, add the username for the user in the domain, set the rights to administrator and try to login. You can always change the rights.

Tried the same but no luck. Don't want to reinstall as the system has lots of data, applications and other user profiles.

Any other solution, if u have??

Do you want to create a roming profile or is a local profile also good ??

Hi Mike,

A local profile will do the work for me. But unable to create the same. The file system is NTFS.

Try to get into the registry , and search for a profile named 'profilepath' First create the profile manually.
Then you will see a path in the registry to the profile that he loads. Rename it to the profile you want it to point it.

This could work.
