Unable to browse to server

When I try to browse to a NT4 server that is in same domain as my backup server (W2k/Arcserve) I get "The server (server name) does not accept remote request." If I try to browse via Arcserve I get "The Network Address is Invalid."
Only idea I've seen was to make certain MS protocols were binding first - which they are.

I've also checked user accounts etc and they are fine. From other servers, for example, I can browse into the NT4 server. Using same account and going from my W2k server - I can't browse to the NT4 server.

Anyone have an idea as to why I can't browse, map or connect (in arcserve)from a W2k server to a NT4 server.

Thanks

Are you able to ping the NT4 sever by name and IP from arcserve? Can you access any other server from arcserve? Are you able to access arcserve from another server?

Sorry, should have mentioned that - yes I can ping both ip and by name.

Sorry a more complete answer is in order.

I can ping both by ip address and server name. The W2k server has arcserve installed and is used only to backup various servers; both a netware server and a Win2k and WinNT server are currently being backup. I wanted to add the NT server to my backup script. When I tried to do that, I found I couldn't connect through Arcserve; and likewise couldn't browse that server via network neighborhoo or my computer. Nbtstat -n on the NT server shows it is using the name I'm trying to access. I also tried increasing the rights of the account on the NT server; just in case, but that'd didn't have any effect.

Unfortunately I've never had any reason to try to hit the NT server prior to this, so I can't go the "what changed" route.

Hope that sheds some light - it's got me.
