Ultrium tape drive question

We use an LTO1 tape drive for backup. I recently purchased new tapes, but they sent LTO2 400 gb tapes.
Will these work in the drive, or do I need to send them back?

Don't think so, its the tape units that are backwards compatible not the tapes.
