I have a Legend QDI BrillianX 1S motherboard, that supports UDMA/33 transfer, I need a new hard drive and am looking at the IBM 60GXP 40GB, which is a UDMA/100 hard drive

My question is will my motherboard support this hard drive, considering the diference in between UDMA/33 and 100, or will I have to get a newer motherboard?

Your motherboard will support the drive fine, JUST not at ATA100. It will rum UDMA 33. If you want to take advantage of the fatser speed of the ATA100 drive you will need a new main board. James Collins

Thanks, I already knew it wouldn't work at 100 if it worked, I just wasn't sure if it would work at all
