Hi this is an open question, I am not familiar with UK telecomms regulations but is there any way to send the UCID from one Avaya PBX (whatever release) to another using the PSTN?

Where can I get documentation of how to tag information to each of the calls I sent out?

Basically what I am looking for is to send the UCID along the call so a cti server on site b can read it. Any help would be great.

Regards.

rbordeaux,

the key word is: user-to-user information element, uui in short. it is a special information element used for passing private information over public networks. i do not know u.k. telecom regulations either but in the rest of europe they use edss1 standard which guarantees passing uui unimpeded.
the scheme is simple: you receive call setup on site a, using cti application extract ucid and put it into uui field and then route call via pstn to site b. on site b, cti application looks for uui info and uses it for database lookup or whatever. simple. :)

thanks dwalin, I will check if my cti allows writing on the uuinfo field.
