UAM Volume

Hi

When i look at the shares connected to my server, there is a Macintosh P.C connected to the UAM Volume. Is that normal.

What is the UAM Volume

The UAM (User Authentication Module) is a default Mac share that is set up when you install File services for Macintosh. It contains a utility for authenticating with your Windows server using encrypted passwords rather than the standard Macintosh plain text. It's perfectly normal for a Macintosh PC to be connected to this share, unless you don't want them to.

Go to that little window that pops up in 2000 and go to file sharing - UAM is in there and you can unshare it.

I have never found a need for it...
