Two sites--one directory and then a sub directory

How, if at all, Can I set up a domain name to return a site that is contained inside a subdirectory that is held within another website with it's own domain. Okay I know this may be a little confusing so here is a picture.

parent folder(contains website with it's own domain)

|
child folder(contains web site but does not have a domain name.)

My question is how can I get a domain name to point to the child folder?

No I don't believe I have. I don't know much about this whole thiing. That is why I asked.
