Hi,
I have an issue with one of the newly purchased SDLT's
Compaq Proliant ML 530 with Win NT 4.0 Sp6a
AS 2000 with a internal 110/220 SDLT.
Last week we upgraded the disk space on the server and also added a second SCSI board which we connected a 160/320 SDLT. The issue now is that I can't see it in the Device Configuration. I can see it on the left side "list of devices" however when I click on the "device group configuration" button the new sdlt is not visible. I checked the device configuration in Compaq Insight Manager and they both are called "device 6" could this be where the conflict is? That they have the same SCSI ID?
Thanks,
GSC

If both SDLT's are on different boards the SCSI ID's will not conflict.
First check the SCSI BIOS and the Windows System, can they both 'see' the two SDLT drives ??

regards

Make sure the tape device and media changer drivers do not load for the device. This is done my disabling the device in the OS Device Manager. See faq478-3987 for details.

The storage agents can also cause problems. In Control Panel it is listed as HP or Compaq Management Agents. Select Properties and then highlight SCSI Information and click remove. I got this recommendation from HP second level support.
