I have a customer that I set up two hunt groups for two different companies that ring with a Distinctive Ring on their sets. They are telling me that when they get very busy they are answering the calls with the wrong company name because there are to many calls coming in on the IC lines. I have assigned each set of lines to their own HG number.

Is there a way to actually assign these HGs to use specific set buttons and then I can label the set buttons so they know exactly what they are answering each time. Lets say set button 1 and 2 are for company A and set button 3 and 4 are for company B.

Any suggestions.

I believe an hunt group appearance behaves like a line. If so, you should be able to move it around using feature*81 just like a line appearance.

Make sure the HG are A&R that way they will have their own button. And Brutalis said you can move them with F*81. Also be sure no lines appear on the phone, otherwise HG distinctive ring won't work.

you only get 1 appearance of each hunt group button per set.
eg: Button 1 ---HG1 sales.
eg: Button 2 ---HG2 Accounts.

the problem I'm going to have is there are 4 lines for each company so that would use 8 buttons if I were to display all the buttons on the t7316 sets

The best way would be to set up 2 phones at that location.

Again you must remove the lines from the sets in question, you only program 2 HG buttons.
In HG programming you assign the lines that are to ring that group.

eg: Button 1 ---HG1 Company A.
eg: Button 2 ---HG2 Company B.
eg: Button 2 ---Transfer
eg: Button 2 ---Page
eg: Button 2 ---Last#
eg: Button 2 ---Intercom
eg: Button 2 ---Intercom
eg: Button 2 ---Handsfree

You can also label a HG like you can a set (Display name).

You assign the hunt group buttons to seperate buttons on the sets.
You don't assign the lines to the sets. You assign them to hunt groups. Then you can put two hunt group buttons on the phones.

How about this:

Company-A
L1-L2 HG-1 Button 1
L3-L4 HG-2 Button 2

Company-B
L5-L6 HG-3 Button 3
L7-L8 HG-4 Button 4

That leave a lot of extra button on a T7316 available.

You mean to say both companies each have 2 rollover groups from the carrier for a total of 4 rollovers groups?

If so then that works, if not then per above mentioned:
eg: Button 1 ---HG1 Company A. (lines 1-4)
eg: Button 2 ---HG2 Company B. (line 5-8)

They have 4 roll over lines per company each. Total of 8 lines two telephone company hunt groups.

I don't think that will work cause there is only 1 button assigned to each hunt group er set, is that correct?

So if they have a call come in on line 1 company A and then another call comes in on line 2 company A and there is only one person answering they will not be able to pick up that call on their set.

is this correct?

to get past the 1 button per hunt group set the hunt group to overflow on busy to another hunt group and have the second hunt group overflow to itself.

eg: Button 1 ---HG1 Company A. (lines 1-4) on busy queue 15 hg2
eg: Button 2 ---HG2 Company A. (lined 1-4) on busy queue hg2
eg: Button 3 ---HG3 Company B. (lines 5-8) on busy queue 15 hg4
eg: Button 4 ---HG4 Company B. (lined 5-8) on busy queue hg4

the book says you cannot overflow to a hunt group but I have done this with a queue of 15 sec. the queue on the second hunt group keeps the call actively presented to the station until answered.

yes that was my concern but if they have a lot of calls coming in people at the sats good only answer 1 of the time. I will try your method of the busy overflow and see how that works
