Just curious about authentication by my two DCs on the same domain. How do they handle requests and where can I find this information in the OS. Can I control how often they replicate as well?

Thanks

Anthony

Both of the DC's handle requests. The client picks the DC it thinks is closest. Yes you can change how often they replicate. I believe it is in Active Directory Sites and services.

Televison will make radio obsolete.

If they are both in the same site,

-it's the first one to reply that authenticates...
-you can't change replication schedule, cos as soon as one changes it replicates within 5 mins (if all it well)...

you can specify one or the other as preferential for authentification by changing the DNS records
something about priority or weight on the SRV records.... can't tell you exactly what off the top of my head tho.. sorry.

if not in same site..
yes you can control replication, and each one deals with clients on own subnet....

I will look into the DNS thing. But you seem to know your stuff aftertaf. You have helped me out every time. I might have to come up with tougher questions.

Thanks
