Does anybody know how to take a ps2 or an at keyboard and add the ps2 or the at connector to the same wire so I don’t have to keep switching keyboards. I now they sell connectors that will do the same thing but I’m curious if anybody has done this and how, I’m also looking to do for a mouse.

I think you mentioned you knew there was an adapter available. I am unsure why you would have to switch keyboards, unless you might be talking about using 1 keyboard for 2 or more pcs.
If that is your issue, an A/B switch is just your answer, although much more expensive than the adapter.

I was afraid I was not going to explain it correctly, what I am try to accomplish is use one keyboard to be able to connect to either a ps2 or an at jack I have over 200 pcs that I maintain that have either a ps2 or a at keyboard connector, and I want to eliminate have two keyboards at my repair station, basically I want to splice both connectors to one keyboard.

There are many keyboard adapters to go either direction. I keep a PS2 keyboard at my workstation and use an AT adapter when the need arises. Here are some examples:
You are talking 4 wires. I would use 2 dead keyboards for their cables and cut and splice at the good keyboard connector.
Just a matter of making sure you have the right wires connected.

I don't want to use one keyboard for two systems simultaneously, I want to create a keyboard that has both a ps2 and an AT connection on one end without having to use a ps2 to AT adapter for my repair area so I dont have to switch the keyboard or search for my adapter.
I understand. Splice the 3 cables together. 2 pigtails from dead keyboards and the one from the good keyboard. Gives you about 8 feet of keyboard cable with the choice of connector. Probably would tape the dual set together just to keep order. Ed Fair

Why do you have to cut thru wires or resoldering (to made a Y adaptor one PS2 and one AT) Wouldn't it be a lot easier to keep a PS2-AT adaptor instead of sticking another one out of your original connector? I think you are just making simple things complicate. those PS2-AT adaptors cost only $1 at my place. Buy a dozen and they show up everywhere when you want them. If you have applications other than what you mention, that is another story. Tie the PS2-AT adaptor to the connecting wire next to your keyboard with 2 piece of garbage tie, simple enough?
