OK,

I have a MS SQL table that keeps track of Referrer Link, State, Quantity of product, Etc.

Say I wanted to Quantify How many Request per State. Group By State and Return Count for each State. Is it possible with one query or do I have to do a Loop through all the states and then query count results?

This is something that I would also like to possibly graph in the future.

Thanks.

you can do it with one query- i find specific query posts are better answered in the SQL forum, btw- are you using SQL Server 2000? it comes with Reporting Services which i am just now getting into- good for building reports like this with graphs and such.

I am using SQL 2000 but have not gotten into Reporting Services. Will have to look into it.

I will post in the SQL Forum to get help with the query. Sometimes I am not sure if the query is intertwined with CF as to were I should post.

Thanks.

My thoughts are if you dynamically generate a large part of the query, post here.. if nothing more than values for the where clause, post there.. Maybe you'll get lucky and we cf experts can expert but if we can't, the notorious rudy (r937) might answer it..

He's an sql guru that we keeped trapped in this forum's closet.
