Has anyone been able to turn on message waiting lights doing voice over IP? I know that it is possible with DCS, but this is too expensive. Can it be accomplished with QSIG or neither one.

We are looking at implementing VOIP using Cisco router, Avaya G700 and S8300 hardware back to centralized voicemail on Intuity Audix.

Are you actually experiencing issues with MWI, or are you just asking? As far as the S8300 is concerned, a VOIP phone is just another station, so there should be no problem. QSIG is standardized DCS over ISDN, so most anything possible in DCS+ is possible in QSIG.

We are not having any problems. Currently, we have Voice over Frame to all of our remote offices. We didn't purchase DCS that would have enabled us to turn on MWI.

I have no experience with QSIG, but understand that it might be a cheaper solution. I am only concerned with trying to turn on MWI for the new offices that we will implement VOIP.
