Turn off file and print sharing?

I have recently converted a peer-to-peer network to client/server with a Win2000 server and the workstations joined on the domain. Should I turn off file and print sharing on the workstations? Is there a benefit to doing this? (ie: does it make a difference in network traffic?)
Thanks,
dei

You should consider moving all data on to the server as it looks as though data is present on local drives. This will allow all data to be backed up on the server. If some user groups need to share files then create a local group / global group structure and assign permissions. (GULP - Global Users Local Permissions)
Shared printers should not cause problems but a dedicated high quality network printer is a better idea if distance or confidentiality is not an issue.
Hope this helps

Thanks, yes...that helps. I just set up a print server, and have implemented roaming profiles for the users and a GROUP folder, so there's no need for the sharing between computers. Should I literally go to each workstation and "disable" file sharing? Will that help with network traffic? (Right now it takes forever to add a printer because it pauses for so long browsing the network for printers...I'm assuming it's looking through all of the "shared" workstations to get the list)?? Will disabling f&p sharing cause any other problems?
