Hi

I do not have a config yet but does anybody know of any issues/problems involved in tunneling a VPN from one Windows 2000 server to another, through an intermediate Cisco 800 series. I suspect the 800 is running NAT.

Is this a Windows 2000 issue, or Cisco or a bit of both.

I can post config, but waiting to recieve it at the moment.

IPSec has 2 modes, transport and tunnel. Transport encrypts only the payload where tunnel encrypts everything and adds another header.

NAT isn't able to change the addresses/ports becuase they're encrypted and the packets are dropped. Try using transport mode but protocols that embed port info in the data field (FTP) will usually still fail.
