We have an Option 61C running Release 25, for no reason the TTY maintanence port (tty 1) is not accepting input from the terminal. It will output information from the PBX but will input "33333" when any key is pressed on the keyboard. I have replaced the keyboard (vt-520), reset the TTY port, and finally, reconnected to a laptop (procomm) with the same results. This tty port 1 (dnum 1, xsdi) is the other port of tty 0 (dnum 0, xsdi) which connects to the system monitor (sdi paddle board). I'm leaning towards the port being stuck. I believe the card needs to be reseated (dis tty 0,1 toggle dis switch and pop in/out card)) but am nervous about how the system monitor will react. Any thoughts or concerns will greatly be appreciated.

Tks Wayne

Thanks....

You can DIS TTY 0 (XSM) and TTY 1 defect. To be sure your system will not fade, remove the XSM board in the pedestal.
After board replacement, reseat XSM, ENL TTY 0 and 1. STAT XSM to check

Caution: If your PBX is old (more than 10 years) you may have problems when reseatting XSM due to condenser not properly working after all these years... Be aware that your column may comes down

are you on the active side? and does the trouble follow a scpu?

John, the problem follows the cpu as in the past we would simply login via the vt-520 (no switch a/b).I beleive the paddle board is installed in the network area of the backplan as we never had to toggle between active Cpu's.I'm scheduled to go to site tomorrow to trace or verify the cable to the paddle board. We inherited the system and half the cables are labeled and the other half aren't (this being one). The CPSI's are on tty 2,3 a modem on tty 4 and a SEB on tty 5.
