Question is it possible that one tsm server and two 3590 tape drive can be define and used simultaneously?

Thanks in advance ..

I am sorry what I mean is starting to use tsm backup simultaneously using both tape drive at the same time.. bec. in our setup we backup flash copy the volumes of our prd box with our tsm volumes. It copies all the filesystems in our prd box to our tsm box and after which we mount all the volumes that we flashcopy in our tsm server and we backup all the said filesystem in our 3590.

What we would like to do is use two 3590 to backup the said files. is it possible to use the 2 3590 at the same time?

From the TSM Server issue: q node <node name> f=d
check the maxnump. If its 1 the node can only have one mount point. To change this, from the TSM Server, update node <node name> maxnump=2
This will give the node 2 mount point, if you want more could set it to the number of drives that you have in the tape library.

From the TSM Client issue:
incr <path/*> <- This is one session to tape #1.
Once this session is started, start another TSM Client session and then issue </path2/*> <- This is #2 session to tape #2.

For the above to work, the data need to be going to the tape pool.

Good Luck,
Sias
