Hi

Can anybody tell me the difference between a TSC and a DSC.

When should a TSC be used and when should a DSC be used and what will happen if you use the wrong type.

thanks

Pete

Use TSC when call is going to be tandemed from the site you are pointing it.

Yep as above TSC is normally for tandem calls, DSC orginates on the switch and goes out on a trunk.

That tells me where to use them but how do they act differently? I am currently installing a system with 9 DPNSS ccts and would like to know if the signalling is different in any way dependant on the type of steering code used.

I would also like to know what conditions I would expect to see if I used the wrong type.

thanks

Peter

The signalling is the same and depends on the trunks used.
A remote switch receives outpulsed digits and doesn't see what type of steering code you use on your side for routing.

To be honest you would not see any difference if you used the wrong one, but your question was which should be used where. If you choose to use TSC or DSC for everything it will work, just not what its designed for.

But thats like asking whats the difference between LSC and a DSC with the RLI set for local terminate.
