Hi,

I have a program that requires HKCU settings from the registry.

The users are connected with Terminal Server. The load of the key is not a problem, but the write back of the key ....

The users can make changed to these settings via a program, but when they log off and log on again the new settings are lost.

I know this has something to do with the NTUSER.DAT, but what?

Or is there a way to export the key from the registry?

Tnx,

YO

Are you using mandatory profiles ? You can see this if the user has a ntuser.man instead of a ntuser.dat. If you are using mandatory profiles, then changes to the registry will not be recorded.
Also if you are using roaming profiles and the user has no write/change rights on that profile, settings will not be recorded.
You can export registry keys to a .reg file using regedit or regedt32 and then select a tree and use EXPORT from the file menu. By using a logonscript (for example usrlogn2.cmd) you can read the registry key using: regedit /s regfile.reg
