The company I am at outsources our webhosting. Recently with all the FrontPage Extensions becoming increasingly less stable we have had to remove them from our servers. This leaves only an FTP which has to be done across a secure frame connection from onsite.

The hosts has a VPN option that would allow access from remote sites as well as on site. I'm trying to make a business case to purchase this option. I guess what I'm asking is What value to VPN provide?

Has anyone out there had to do something similar?

Are there any good VPN related links you could provide me?

Thanks Regards,

Cost of frame - cost of VPN = value. If you're just using the frame for updating the web site, not for anything requiring high reliability or availability, then a VPN is certain to reduce costs and work as well.

Thanks lgarner. I was begining to think no one else had to make a case with their corp to use a VPN :) Regards,
