Ok I am stumped. At work I have a Gateway P5-166 w/32 Mb of RAM, 2.1 Gb HD, 3Com 3C509 NIC, STB Virge GX Video Card, and a generic parrallel/serial port card. This Machine is used to upload programs to PLCs (CNC Machines). We would like to have all for com ports for reasons to do with the software. Any way I haver configured the motherboard com ports to be as follows: Primary port is at Com4/IRQ 3 The Secondary port is at Com3/IRQ 4. The generic board is as follows: Primary port is Com1/IRQ 5, secondary is<br>
Com2/IRQ 9. There are no conflicts showing in the Windows 95 System Properties. And Windows 95 recognizes all four ports. But when I try to communicate through either of the secondary ports nothing happens. I have tried hooking up a modem and having Windows search for a modem on all ports and still no luck with com2 or com3. Any suggestions?????
