We have just upgraded to 2K3 Server AD from NT4. Now I am trying to install the first Exchange server into AD. I ran setup /forestprep on the AD server and it started to work then it failed on like step 9 when in the middle of adding its bit and pieces to the Schema. I tried to run the setup again and now I get this error:

You must be an Exchange Full Administrator at the OU level.

The problem is I don't have this Group in my AD. Is there a way to remove the stuff that the first install put in there and start over? Trying to avoid a call to M$.

Thanks

There is an undocumented switch in the Exchange setup that basically allows you to blow it away.

You could probably also delete the Microsoft Exchange node under Services in AD Sites and Services.

Are you sure that you have enabled Schema updates? On some systems you have to make a small reg. change on the Schema master in order to get forestprep to run.

Do you know what the switch is?

I checked the reg key for Schemea updates set to 1 (allow)

You think I should use asdiedit to remove the Exchange pieces?

Thanks!
