Windows XP Pro. It won't format the drive properly from the CD. I have tried to reformat from a c: prompt and from a floppy with no luck. Is there a magic formula?
Thanks

have you tried the fdisk command from a dos prompt?
that will format your hard drive, but be sure you have a way to get all your programming back in.

Boot from the XP CD, choose install, when it asks where - tell it to use ME partition and format with the NTFS filesystem; that should get rid of the pesky thing for you.

Andy.

The XP disk wouldn't let me format. Thank you DRowland and gpalmer711. I totally forgot about fdisk. Just goes to show how long it's been since I used that particular command.
