I made a boo boo. I installed easy cd creator 4.0 onto Windows XP. All I wanted to do was make a cd case label. It said the burner driver may be unstable. This computer dosen't even have a cd burner so I didn't think it mattered. It started giving me error after error after I installed, So I uninstalled the software. Now everything is fine except every time I boot the computer up I get that XP error that says that a cd recording driver is trying to load and may make my system unstable. I cant get ant support from Roxio and cant find any contact info for them. Ive searched the inf files and just don't know what was left behind after the uninstall or if mabe this is something in the registry. If anyone knows what I can do to get rid of this error please let me know.

Thanks in advance

go into Device Manager, delete/unisntall your cd drive and then seach for new hardware/changes and let it reinstall you cd drive.

Check in 'Services' that there's no Roxio service starting. If there is then disable it.

Roxio's support forums are offline until later today, due to a system upgrade. After the forums are back up again, the new URL will be:

Hope this helps...

I got it fixed !! :)
Thanks for the help. First I checked in services and thought I had found the problem, but when I rebooted I got the same error. I then Uninstalled the CD rom drive and reinstalled. I rebooted and once again I got the same error. I decided to go back to device manager and looked at the driver details for the CD Rom. It had two drivers that were trying to load but had a red X beside the driver name. I wroter the names down went to the system32 driver folder and deleted them - rebooted - and no more error.

Thanks again for the help - If you hadn't have pointed me in the right direction I would be still sitting here scratching my head !!
