I'm an IT analyst trying to come up with an automated solution for our graphics department. I have very basic working knowledge of Quark. On a previous project I developed a solution to apply XML tagging to raw text then import the text into Quark using a 3rd party XPress XML Extension. This works fine for formatting text only, however I have no experience with graphics in a Quark document.
Basically I have about 600 real estate listings in a text file, I can again apply formatting using my previous XML solution. I can import the text into a text box with text attributes applied. Each listing is associated with a unique photo that is stored in a known directory. I'd like to also somehow automate the process of placing the photos into a particular page position.
I envision a page containing 2 columns. Left column is pictures of houses. Right column is a text description of the house. Each page will contain 24 different photos and descriptions.
I need to automate the placement of the house photos while ensuring that the text for each house is proper position.
Any ideas?
Thanks
