I'm using CR XI.

The report I'm looking at only has two tables in it and is only linked by CompCode and ItemCode. There's nothing else major between the tables to link them. I'm wondering if creating more links between the two tables would make the report run faster. Since there's not a lot to link between the two, I may have to bring in another table just to link to but I'm worried this will just slow it down more. Do more random links/tables help or hurt report speed?

Increasing links will not help.

Ideally those two fields should be indexed within the DB that should speed things up. Can your DBA add indices?

Alternatively please show us your SQL, make sure you paste between

"
Code:
" and "[\code]" without the "" and \ this way round /code, added them as you will not see them in this post.

Your post wil then look like this

[code]
Your SQL here
