I have a version 7 switch in another city that is disconnected. I have tried do a release tru XX to bring it back in service but system says its not a valid command. what command do I need to perform this or do I need some permissions.

you need maint permisions on the trunks to do this. Do a display permisions for your loging, look toward the bottom of page.

on the bottom of the page it says maint. enhanced DS1 has NO do I will need to talk to someone in my other office to give me this permission . Thanks much for the quick reply

Is this a T1 connecting the two switches, if so then just pop the board and when you reseat it cross your fingers. Before you can release a board or trunk group yu have to busy it out first, but you may need maintenance permissions to do either.

You need the "maint ds1" set to yes in the customer system optoins page. If it is not, that is something only avaya can do. If it set you yes, then you need someone with permisions to administer permisions to change it for your login id.

When I try to change the permission receive DS1 MSP feature not Assigned. usering another ID to make the change

you cannot change your own permissions. You need someone else, or another login to do that. Do you have permissions to add a login? you can do it that way also.
