Hi,

I am monitoring my co and DID trunks due to traffic problems and then relaying this info to corp. I can see I'm having problems but I would like to explain the different columns and am obviously confused. Like one day I only show 1 %ATB but in the next column it shows 33% out block. Does this mean 33% of the calls were blocked or 1%? Heres the info I need help with. (I know I have one member out) and it's been called in for service.)

Meas Total Maint Total Inc. Grp Out % %Out
Hour Usage Usage Seize Seize Ovfl Srv ATB Blk

1500 113 35 40 16 12 1 1 33

The other columns, tandem Seize, call qued, que ovf and que abd are all zero.

Thanks!
Tina

It may be that the column headers aren't level with the measured selection. I presume your using a "list measurements trunk-group summary" command in ASA. You could try using CentreVu to see this more clearly.

Trunk group reports usually have the below within the reports....

Outbound Blocked calls. This is the number of outbound call attempts that were blocked because all the trunks were busy.

% All Trunks Busy. This is the percentage of time that all trunks were busy during the specified time period.
Hope this makes sense

Sorry, they didn't line up after I sent them!
Total Usage=113
Maint Usage = 35
Total Seize = 40
Inc Seize = 16
Grp Ovfl = 12
Out Srv = 1
% ATB = 1
% Out Blk = 33

I don't believe I have centervu I'm on a G3siV6.

Does Total Seize mean that only 40 calls were allowed out of 113?

Thanks again

From my understanding I would say that "Total Seize" is the amount of time trunks within that group were seized by callers, "Inc Seized" applies to incoming only.

Total usage is given in Hundred Call Seconds (CCS). It is not the number of calls. Total seized is the number of calls that took place in a busy hour. Incoming Seize identifies the number of incoming call out of the total seized. In your case there were 13 incoming calls and 27 outgoing calls (40-13). There was one trunk out-of-service for most of the hour. 1 hour = 36 CCS. Maintenance = 35 CCS = 58.33 minutes.

I'm not sure which report you're using. As stated above, I would use the 'list measurement trunk-group summary [today, yesterday, last-hour]' report.

Below is the link to the Avaya document that deals with interpeting traffic reports.

Thanks for clarifying it for me and the links...I was using the hourly report instead of the summary.

I have that it should go to another trunk group if the first one is full, but I am still showing ATB? Would it show ATB if it was overflowing to the next trunk group? I am wondering if I have it configured wrong. Any suggestions?

Yes it would. All trunks in that trunk group are busy. Use the 'list meaurement route-pattern x [yesterday, today, last-hour]' to see how many calls each trunk group is carrying. Use the 'change measurements route-pattern' to add the patterns to the measurement table.
