I have a Crystal Report formatted so my column headings are all in the page header and my data fields are lined up underneath in my group footer. No matter what I do, when I export to Excel 97-2000, my page header text objects end up getting truncated.

I believe I have the latest version of Crystl 10.0.5.1054

I have researched this for weeks now on this site and on the Business Objects site. I'm hoping someone can help.

It bases them on the width of the data I think.

You might cheat this by padding out the fields themselves (you can convert what needs to be to text, and then use the replicatestring(" ",X) to append spaces, X being the number of spaces you want.

Exporting wasn't intended to have Excel perfectly formatted, and I think that you'll discover that you simply need to widen the column that the page header is in within Excel given your current export method.

I thought about widening them but what happens when I have multiple column headings?

There's an option in the excel export dialog that lets you decide what should control the column width: objects in a specified section or all sections...

hth,
- Ido

Visual CUT & DataLink Viewer:
view, e-mail, export, burst, distribute, and schedule Crystal Reports.

thank you I've tried that and the truncating still happens
