Truncated Exported Filenames

Hi,
I'm exporting documents (doesn't matter what kind; JPG, PDF, etc) from InDesign CS2 and it makes 2 files. One of them is the full filename but has 0 KB of filesize and won't open, and the other has a truncated filename and CAN open.

Basically, it looks something like this:

FILENAME.indd 1.7MB (original file)
FILENAME.pdf O KB
FILEN#345235.pdf 145 KB

Any ideas why, and how to stop it?
