Has anyone run across an issue where all the phones on a g700 will have issues pressing one particular digit? We are running an S8720 and one of our remote sites with around 50 phones on a g700 has noticed problems pressing 2. It is happening on several different types of phones. It is not occuring 100% of the time but enough for our Doc's to be upset. Just curious what might cause such an issue.

I would guess it's a bug in the code or possibly a misfunctioning piece of hardware.

It's not a configuration issue or I would think it would happen all the time.

I was trying to figure out specifically which piece of hardware it might be. I figured it was something like that.

Does it happen when they pick up a phone to dial a number or is it inside a vector collecting digits or in a modular messaging interface?

Part of it is happening when dialing into their audix, but the Docs are mainly complaining about when they dial into our dictation system. Which to tell the truth I dont know very much about.

ahhhh.......the old dictation system issues. how much you want to bet it has nothing at all to do with the number 2 but the number 2 is some sort of primary function of the dictation system like start/stop recording. Then maybe it's an issue with dtmf being too short for the dictation system and not these mystery issues being described with the entire system or specifically the number 2. Being Doc's, i would also bet if you asked them to name their dictation system, 3 in 10 Docs would incorrectly tell you it's called audix so I wouldn't bet too heavy on that being part of the issue.

I know this didn't specifically help you fix the issue but it may help you decide where to investigate further. or mayb help you decide what further questions you need to ask them.

Well the other part of the issue is of course I cant see the problem in action. And to tell the truth I cant even hear about it first hand. I have to hear it from that regional clinics director. She is the one who threw audix into the mix. And its mainly giving them issues as they try to log-in to the dictation system but yes that would most likely be from that system.
