Trouble with modems on analog lines

We have a Definity G3si with a couple "Analog line" TN793's in it (vintage 6).

They seem to work fine (can dial out from them, etc) but we run into problems when people dial out of them through modems. Sometimes they get hung up when on a call, but very often users will not be able to call out. The local modem connects to the other modem, they do the handshake several times before giving up.

What's odd is that some users connect daily with no problems. The problem doesn't seem isolated to a single card either. For one application I slowed the modem down to 9600 baud and it seems to connect better. I suppose cabling may be a problem, it is all new and certified but I haven't checked it myself yet.

Any ideas? Thanks!

You might be havine a timing issue. Check your Synchronazation Plan type "ch syn" this form controls the timing issues for the switch. When you put a t-1 in for primary have it be a local T that carrys your DIDs. Make sure if you can put in a secondary as well. Wisdom is Knowledge
