Hello Group,

All of the sudden we lost the capability to send faxes or make outgoing modem to modem calls. The modems generally will not sync up, but if and when they finally do, there appears to be a lot of noise on the line. Voice calls from analog and digital station seem fine. Any ideas what is wrong?

In case this is a related issue, we have canceled some LD dedicated circuits that were scheduled to go off-line today.

Thanks in advance,
JS

Sounds like a synch issue. Do a "disp synch" to see which T-1's your systme is clocking off of. Make sure these aren't your disconnected circuits. If so, chanhe to an active Ds-1.

Yes, the trunk that it is sync'd off is down.

Can I change the setting on the fly? Or is this something that has to be done during non-business hours (i.e will calls be disconnected, etc.)?

Thanks,
Jeff

Yes, you can change them on the fly. The primary and secondary must be in the same port-network however.
