HELP !

I tried installing an application onto a server and a message came up explaining that the version of the DAO350.DLL file trying to install is newer than that of the one on the server. Also note that the message did not allow me to override the older version with this newer one. Customer has Windows 2000 NT

version I have is the one that came with ACCESS 97 DEV KIT - 3.51.1608.0

server on which I am trying to install has version 3.50.3602.0

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Well, which is it, 2000 or NT? :)

The server must have loaded the OLDer DLL file at some point, and was unable to unload it so the new one you have can replace it.

Try installing on the server AFTER shutting down just about every other service you can afford to.

I am not an NT expert, but I think that both it and 2000 use the JET engine for various indexing and computer management tasks, and this may be what's keeping you from replacing the old DLL.

There are programs floating around that will tell you which running processes have used which DLLs, this might aid in your investigations.
