Hi,

I was trying to install VPN on my windows 2000 server, I couldnt get it to work right and decided to remove it. Now the server won't connect to any other local servers on the network, It still can get out to the internet, but all local connectivity is lost. This all started when I was working with VPN stuff. Now I just want it back to where it was. It won't even login on reboot, it says that the login server cannot be contacted and it's using a local profile, HELP!

Any idea's?

Thanks in advance.

Try disabling 'routing and remote access' all together cos it interferes with local routing if you use the 'wizard' to configure your VPN. Atleast that was my problem the other day.

Have you got a serperate interface for internet on your server? If you have, the local interface may be disabled?

I didnt, and that might be my problem, how to I reenable it?

'network connections' in control panel.

right-click 'Local Area Connection' (or whatever your connection is called) and click 'enable'.

To kill routing and remote access, goto control panel - administrative tools - routing and remote access. In one of the menus there is an option to 'disable routing & remote access'.
