I am having major problems filling elipses.

i need four or so elipses to overlay each other, i need each one a different colour, but i also need them transparent so i can see theone underneath. It look good on paper - i have each elipse coloured by drawing lines across them (either horizontal, diagonal or virtical). therefore i am left with lines and a lot of white space (i presume that would be transparant in PSP).

however, when i try to do this to my elipse in PSP i can only colour them solid, and i can't seem to capture them to color them because when i make them the flood fill tool becomes unavailable, it has something to do with layers, i just can't seem to do it.

Best way to do this is to use vectors.

Use the 'shapes' tool and make sure that the 'create as vector' option is ticked. Now draw your first ellipse (don't worry about the colour yet!)

Now create a new vector layer, select it (in the layers window) and draw your second ellipse, again not worrying about the colour. Repeat this (creating a new vector layer for each ellipse) to create the final two ellipses.

Now, use the object selection tool (the one at the end of the tool bar which is a square with an arrow in the middle) and select one of the ellipses (you can do this by selecting the name of the shape on the vector layer - in the vector window).

Now, in the tools window select 'properties' - you can now change the outline, the fill, anti-aliasing, etc, etc.

Once you have done this for all four shapes you can then simply alter the transaparenct on each layer to alter the amount that you can 'see through' each ellipse.

And there you go.

And if you actually understood any of that then, frankly, I'm amazed - sorry, it's Friday and I'm babbling a bit!
