Hello all,
My boss has asked me to modify Trend Scanmail behaviour to allow the internal sending of any attachment type. Only incoming and outgoing mail would be subject to attachment control.
Is there a method to achieve this? I've been through the forums here and my own Scanmail install and not found how to do it.
The only way I can think about doing this is creating a list of Email addresses (or some other identifier) that are exempt from scan processing.
Is there an exceptions file in the M$ versions of Scanmail, and what might it do?
Can you define a pool of addresses that are exempt from scanning?
Also, I wonder if a spoofed sender address on an email with a malicious attachment would then get through from the outside?
Sorry about the long post.
Kind Regards
Finn
