If I open a screen with an image with a transparent background property in VFP6 the background is transparent, but if I open in VFP 8.0 it's opaque and nothing will change it.

I'm running on Windows 2000 Professional workstation.

VFP 8.0 uses the new GDSIPlus API (developed for XP) - somethings will be different, especially in the older OSs. I had to make changes back when switching from Win 3.x and FPW to Win95 and VFP!

What type of image is this? (.BMP, .GIF, etc.) Since there are many variants possible for most image types, have you tried converting it to another one?

Rick

FYI: According to PaintShop Pro, there are actually four different versions of .GIF files - 87a/89a and Interlaced/Noninterlaced.
