I have a text frame which I have placed over a graphic, I would like to fill the frame white and make 50% transparent so that the graphic is visiable through it.

Only problem is when I adjust the transparency, the text goes transparent as well - I need the text fully opaque.

Any ideas - help greatly apricated.

Thanks

How about creating no fill for the text frame and creating a new white box element to be sandwiched by the text and the background? The new box element can have the transparency effect.

Why is everyone in this forum responding to me as picklefish?

Not a bad idea - I was kinda going that way.

Shame it can't be done as one object!

Thanks for you time

Ben.

I had a similar problem but using a table with different colours running through it, so that means I would have to create 2 tables, one with a none background and one with the colours running through it, then make the coloured one transparent.

Why not a transparent text block over a 50% transparent photo underneath. Achieves the same affect no?
