Transmission of XML Data from CFM Site

I need to set up a dialogue between a CFM 6 site and a XML server.

I have a Parser to convert XML data and pages to a format suitable for a CFM site. I intend to convert data to a XML format, to then send it to a XML Server.

What is the best way to transmit that data to the XML Server. Is an API the answer? If so, which one. If not, what should be done?

it all depends.

in a lot of cases like this a simple scheduled task might work where the CFML server simply saves the xml files to disk and the 'xml server' on schedule reads those urls.
