OK, so I'm pretty good with Excel and VBA and I'm kind of OK with Access and VBA. I've been offered some work doing VBA with Word. I don't have the brief yet so I'm not entirely sure what is involved. Should I take the project?

In other words, how easy is the transition to Word VBA from Excel?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Steve,

The VBA language is the same but the Word object model is one of a kind so it's no picnic. You'll likely struggle to begin with but if you're familiar with Word and the VBA/Object concepts and finding your way around the VBE (you'll use the object browser and / or the Locals and Watch windows quite a bit - as well as the macro recorder) and Help screens you should be alright.

Enjoy,
Tony

I'd second what Tony has already said, having tried it myself! I don't know Word particularly well so I found it a bit tricky.

Though I found one invaluable source of info to be the Word MVP site
