transforming access as a front end to sql problem

I have created an access database as a front end, linked through ODBC to our SQL server tables for a certain project.
The access database is a convenient report generator for the project.

I am also importing the same tables into another (identical) version of the database to zip and send to our off shore subsidiaries (not having time to create VPN or other links into the original).

My problem is that certain of the queries (though working in the SQL linked original) stop collecting data as soon as the tables imported and not linked.

Anyone got any pointers on this one?
