I'm trying to import an Excel spreadsheet in its data entry order - just as it currently exists. Whenever I use TransferSpreadsheet, the Access records in the file end up in alphabetic order. How can I transfer in the spreadsheet in its data entry order?
Thank you for any and all help,
Tracy SHC

If you are transferring the records into an existing table they will be presented in a sequence according to the table's primary key.

lupins46,
Thanks for your response. It wasn't what I was hoping to hear, but it was enough to have me exploring alternatives. So much for there being an option in the TransferSpreadsheet command to turn off the primary key...
Thanks again,

At the risk of sounding patronising....who told you that?
There is no such option.

If you import to an existing table you are governed by the structure of that table.

If you import to a new table then there are no indexes or primary keys created. Perhaps this would suit your needs better. However, you should bear in mind, that unless you impose an order on data, you cannot rely on the order it will be presented. Running a compact might change the record sequence of an unordered table. It is better to think of an unordered table as a bucket of records rather than a list of records.
