I am having a bit o bother and time is running out.

I am trying to send dbx files from OE6 on the slaved drive to OE6 on the master. The slave was the master on a win 98 machine, but I upgraded it to ME in an attempt to solve another problem, which it didn't, so I have slaved it on another machine and want to transfer all the many mail boxes created by the owner on to the C: drive version of Outlook Express already installed, also running ME.

I have tried copying them over to what appears to be the correct location but they are not being seen in Outlook Express. What am I doing wrong? I said I would give it back tomorrow and there is still so much to do.
Please can you help me?

On the target computer:

1. Open outlook express
2. File -> Import -> Messages -> Outlook Express 6 -> From a Store Directory -> Navigate to this store directory -> Point at folders to import.
3. Copy the .WAB file from the source machine and replace it on the target machine (may need to turn on viewing hidden files/folders to show up properly). This will transfer the address book.

You will need to recreate the accounts (SMTP/POP3 server settings etc) manually.

John, I came off of here, went in and had another go and found out how to do it. I was trying to do it the wrong way, manually copying and pasting, which I have done in the past and successfully I think, saving the files to the network or sending and recovering from backup.

It didn't occur to me to actually ask OE to do it for me (doh).
The wab I did earlier, so that part is all sorted.

Anyway, thank you for your prompt response to my distress call, you are,as ever, a star - nay, a knight in shining armour, no less. What was that I said about stars??

Gracie:)
