Transferring address book from IE6 to IE5

I thought this would be a simple process by copying the .wab files, or "address book" but it would not take either by "importing address book" or copying in Explorer to outlook express address book.
Can anyone help, other than upgrading to IE6 on my other machine which BTW has win 98SE.
