Because SCN does not allow the direct calling of Hunt Groups in remote sites I created shortcodes that dial the hunt group (i.e. if the remote hunt group is 2100 then I created a shortcode of 2100 with a dial action of 2100 using the IP trunk of that remote site). What I would like to do now is transfer a call to that remote hunt group. Does anybody have an idea of how to transfer to a shortcode that dials and extension or huntgroup? Any other possible ways?

If I'm understanding the question correctly, you want to know how a user can use their transfer key to send a call to the remote site?

Same way as for an extension (Hit XFER then dial the number and hang up, or hit XFER again). I haven't noticed that this ability has gone away at all.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the question.

I think I crasp What you are saying. To forward calls to a hunt group over a SCN. Ie if you had a main Hunt group and wanted it to forward over to a hunt group on a remote site.

Create a Virtual user on the local site with unconditional forwarding to the remote site hunt group.
Then add this virtual user to the local hunt group. I believe you have to have the group set to hunt? May be wrong.

If i have mis understood. Apologies!!

The issue isn't about transferring as much as it is about calling a remote hunt group. I'm using shortcodes to take care of the issue of dialing a remote hunt group but you cannot use your transfer button then dial a shortcode. This is why I am asking. I will attempt 33byt1's suggestion and re-post. Thanks!

you can dail directly to a huntgroup in a SCN
only the shortcode is different

normaly if your dail plan s let's say 2000 - 2999
then you make a shortcode like:

SC 2xxx
F dail
TN 2xxx
ID 50 (just the one you use)

now you can dail every number start witth 2 and dthree digits behind

with a huntgroup it's different
then the shortcode looks like :

SC 2N
F dail
TN 2xxx
ID 50

the hunt group you need to dail is given a phonenumber somewhere between the 2000 and 2999

Why don't I have this issue. I've never had to use 2N. Sometimes I'll do specific HG extensions (ex: 2001) or other times I'll just send the enitre remote site's range even though SCN does the database swap (ex: 2xxx).

I've never had an issue w/ not being able to dial or xfer between sites.

Interesting.
