Transfer - hangs up

I have a CCR tree setup to transfer to an outside phone number.

When the option is pressed, the system disconnects the call. When the call is disconnected, I get a telco message that says "if you would like to make a call please hang up... "

here is what I have:

1) Call Pilot 100
2) Modular ICS - I believe the software is DR 7.1 rel 1

The setup on the option is as follows: Line 032 and I have a # before the phone number. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
The lines are not centrex. Also, this was working at some point. I do not know what changed to cause it not to work.
 
If you do not have Centrex, and it worked once, you probably had 3-way calling (party line) on those lines. If you have regular POTS lines, as hook flash (# in vmail) is equivalent to hanging up.
 
Thanks for the information. That makes sense. Do you know how I can get it working correctly?
 
Set up your outbound transfer path to use pool 1, and enter the phone number without a #.
