I thought I might have seen something about this a while ago, but cant seem to find the thread.

Is it possible to get a call in on a PRI and transfer it to another PRI on a completely different system and release the channels on the first incoming PRI? Both PRIs are with the same carrier and both are getting billed to the same end user. If it can be done is there a feature on the PRI that needs to be turned on, and if so, what is it called?

You are talking about partial re-routing, where that is supported it's still only on the same trunk...so call comes in and goes out on the same trunk. I certainly think a different trunk and different system is a no no :-)

no, it would be going to another IPO, but the customer doesnt want anything to go over their network. so the call would come in site A gets transfered to an external number of site B and the channel gets released from site A. So, are you saying that we might be able to do it with only using one channel for the call and not 2?

If you look in the line settings it's described in there, but the provider also needs to support it (as always) :-)

Manager Help File said:
· Supports Partial Rerouting: Default = Off. Software level = 4.0+.
Partial rerouting (PR) is an ISDN feature. It is supported on external (non-network and QSIG) ISDN exchange calls. When an external call is transferred to another external number, the transfer is performed by the ISDN exchange and the channels to the system are freed. Use of this service may need to be requested from the line provider and may incur a charge.

· Force Number Plan to ISDN: Default = Off. Software level = 4.2+.
This option is only configurable when Support Partial Rerouting is also enabled. When selected, the plan/type parameter for Partial Rerouting is changed from Unknown/Unknown to ISDN/Unknown. For IP Office 4.0 and 4.1 the plan/type is fixed as Unknown/Unknown. The use of this setting will depend on line provider requirements for partial rerouting.

that option only appears when I select QSIG and ETSI as the Line Sub Type, not PRI or T1, which is what I think I am going to need. I am in the US, and have never used anything other than PRI or T1.
