I have a 4 GB hard drive that I would like to transfer all system and data files to a 9 GB hard drive without losing any data or having to re-install any applications. Both drives are NTFS partitions. Any ideas on the best utility to do this??

Symantec Ghost. Used it probably 50-75 times. Never had a problem out of it. If you are doing this on a server, then you will need to use the dos version to do it.

Use PowerQuest's Drive Image, or if i misunderstood and you didnt want to do a full image, you can hook them both up set the 9GB HD as the slave and transfer that way. Well, either way you will have to hook them both up, unless you have a portable HDD to use.

This is for a server and they are SCSI drives. Will these still work with SCSI?

Ghost will work, you will need to get the dos scsi drivers and put then in the config.sys on a win98 boot floppy. I carry around 2 floppy's, one is a win98 boot disk, the other has ghostpe.exe on it. I have done this many times, mostly on Dell servers, no problems at all.. A+ MCP

With Drive Image, You can create an image, but only on a non-active partition, so in other words if you want to boot from the C drive and make an image, you have to boot with a disk with the scsi drivers on it, all other partitions are in open season though.

Another question, I am doing this remotely so I know I will obviously need to have the hosting company install the floppy disk to boot from but is it possible to have remote access to a computer when booting from a floppy? I guess I would also have to install a DOS version of PCAnywhere or something?
